Wood trends

Wood is again becoming a strong choice in recent fireplace buying trends. Having suffered a decline in recent years in favour of the lighter tones of limestone and marble, wood is re-immerging as a strong contender again in the fireplace buying process.

Simple designs like the Boxgrove and the Keymer are again top of the choice list with the buying public. However there is also a trend towards the ornately hand carved designs, such as the Guestling and Copthorne. We are also seeing an increase in the amount of bespoke wooden mantelpieces we are being asked to manufacture for different new build projects or refurbishments. For details on how we could help your project call us on 01243 373300, or email us on showroom@emsworth.co.uk.

So what timber types top the chart. Oak is still the preferred choice of timber, with waxed finish being the most popular, followed by light Oak, then white primed and Mahogany.
